Wanasah TV hits the airwaves on July 3rd
New music and youth entertainment channel to offer the best in music and interactivity
Dubai, 26 June 2007: Groove to the future of Arab music, when Wanasah, launches 3 July from the Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, with a live broadcast concert at 20:30 KSA featuring Arab music superstars (including Rashed Al Majid) from across the region.
Owned by Rashed Al Majid, the Wanasah channel will be managed by the MBC Group and will feature a host of hot, new presenters and a mix of the latest in music and variety programs and original locally-produced content that will stretch the boundaries of interactivity.
“I’ve always wanted to diversify into the music broadcast industry; Wanasah has been in the back of my mind for some years. With my music background and the MBC team’s industry experience, we have the relationships and know-how to deliver a great new channel that will represent a paradigm shift in the way people interact with and enjoy TV and music,” comments Al Majid.
Aimed at the new generation of Arab youth – in particular, young Saudi men and women, Al Majid states that the targeted audience is highly educated, bold and visionary.
“This audience- Generation Y - set the trends of today. They understand the power of the internet and the media, and they are the ones who actually set the rules in terms of what we’ll be doing with tomorrow’s technology, and Wanasah will respond to this- offering a relevant, exciting, fresh music experience.”
“I’ll let the channel speak for itself when we go live on 3 July, but in the meantime, let me say that we’ve come up with some amazing content and programming concepts that’ll have people hooked right from the start,” concludes Al Majid.
